Swami Advaitananda Giri aka Swami Vilakshanananda

Swami Advaitananda Giri aka Swami Vilakshanananda aka Balwant Singh Rathore is a senior priest/monk of Bharat Sevashram Sangha and Chairman of the International Meditation Foundation. He joined Bharat Sevashram Sangha in 2018 as an ordained monk from the Juna Akhara. The Juna Akhara is among India’s most ancient monastic orders. In 1994, he became an ordained monk there, following a rigorous, multi-year process of religious education and training. This encompassed Hindu scriptures, religious rites, rituals, yoga, and meditation techniques, all learned under the mentorship of designated senior monks. Upon attaining monkhood at Juna Akhara, he adopted the monk name “Swami Advaitananda Giri. Subsequently, when he joined Bharat Sevashram Sangha, he adopted the name “Swami Vilakshanananda.”

Over the years, he sincerely rendered his services at many of Bharat Sevashram Sangha’s religious centers located all over India. These centers include prominent cities such as Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Varanasi, and Haridwar. He has also traveled to several foreign countries including Canada, France, Germany, and Spain. Additionally, he visited Portugal, UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait to serve devotees. His dedication extended to Oman, where he also provided his services. Moreover, the Meditation Foundation is guided by its visionary Chairman. The foundation’s resolute commitment is to promote inner peace and well-being through the practice of meditation. Under the leadership of this dedicated Chairman, the foundation strives to make meditation accessible and transformative for all.

Furthermore, he’s an expert in Hindu Philosophy, Hindu religious rituals, rites, Yoga, and Meditation techniques. This extensive knowledge is passed on to the junior priests and monks within Bharat Sevashram Sangha, where he serves as a dedicated mentor and educator, imparting the essential teachings of these profound traditions. Upon joining Bharat Sevashram Sangha in 2018, he has been further trained in advanced religious education, and training in Hindu scriptures, Hindu religious rites, rituals, yoga, and meditation.

Since childhood, he pondered questions about his origin, destination, identity, and the path to happiness. At nine, he sought truth and joined the Kabir tradition in Pushkar, India, finding his path. He explored various meditation traditions and currently follows Shree Panchdasnaam Joona Akhara’s Naga tradition.

Kaagbhusandi and Satopanth near Badrinath, Mani Mahesh Kailash, and Kailash Mansarovar are his places for meditation practices.

Furthermore, his teacher training program, “Prison Samadhi,” brought substantial benefits to inmates in prisons across Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, and Rajasthan.

In addition, Swami Ji’s meditation teachers are present in about 25 countries, offering free instruction. His modern meditation methods are groundbreaking.

Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) spearheaded by him provides training to Physical Training Instructors of schools and colleges in India.

He was the brain behind Govt. of India’s “One Student, One Tree Policy”. His recommendations formed the basis for the inclusion of Universal Human Values in the National Education Policy 2020.
